No, a referral is not necessary to see a physiotherapist in NSW. You may simply ‘turn up’ and tell us your story. We may ask for a referral from your treating Doctor if your injury is work related or if you have made a third party claim (Motor Vehicle Accident Claims).

We do get very busy, but we will do our best to fit you in within a 24 hour period. If you have a particular time frame that you prefer, it is best to book in advance.
Your therapist at Physical Health will tailor a treatment plan to addresses your needs and goals.
During the initial consultation, your therapist will take time to listen, observe, and examine to generate a more complete picture of your condition and how this may be affecting your day to day lifestyle. This session will include an explanation of your treatment plan, realistic expectations of how the session will benefit and instructions for any exercises you can start at home to accelerate the recovery process. We have a strong focus on ‘hands on’ or manual therapy treatments.
You know your body better than anyone else. Let your therapist know of any concerns you may have during or after the treatment session so we can provide you with professional guidance and work in hand in hand to achieve the best results possible.
Ideally, please come to your appointment in your most comfortable clothing. If required, we can offer gowns to access the area of concerns to perform a more comprehensive assessment and treatment.
Please bring along any Doctors referrals, specialist reports and previous scans and results that you may have.
Yes, a HICAPS facility is available on site, a rebate from your private health fund can be claimed at the point of payment immediately.
Physiotherapy consultation bulked billed?
At Physical Health, we want to reach out to those who are in need of our services. You will be pleased to know that Physical Health will fully bulk bill (no additional payments) to clients referred by a Doctor under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or the Chronic Disease Management program. You may be eligible to access up to 5 allied health consultations per year for the management of your chronic condition.
We welcome all referrals; whether the client is privately funded, CTP/Green-slip, workers compensation or under the enhanced primary care (EPC)/ chronic disease management.
We will ensure that a strong line of communication is established between our practitioners and your treating Doctor, specialist, case manager and the rehab provider to update and streamline your treatment to best manage your work related injury.
